Busy moms don’t usually have much time for gardening. Even if you love the roses and butterflies, it’s hard to get out there and get rid of those weeds! Still, even without any time, there are a number of ways you can spruce up your yard with little fixes.
If you are able to spend some money on the garden, consider adding landscaping elements. An archway, for example, doesn’t require much care, but it can make your garden seem much more dynamic. Benches, statues, fountains, and bird baths are also nice. If you have plenty of space, gazebos are a lovely option. Decks, too, can make a nice addition to a large yard, if you want a place to barbecue, have dinner, or even sit and read. If you have large trees, a hammock can be a lovely addition to your outdoor world. A hot tub, sauna, or trampoline can also change the look and feel of your yard! Also, investing in your landscape can increase the value of your home.
Don’t worry if you’re on a budget. You can still greatly improve the look of your garden. Small lanterns are very affordable and can give your garden a sweet, quaint feel. A bird feeder will attract wildlife and give your yard a dynamic energy. Carefully placed, small stones will change the look of your garden. Getting a few nice pots can improve the aesthetics of your yard, too. Look in your local garden store for inexpensive, sweet items.
Landscaping items aside, the best thing you can give your garden is time. If you rake the leaves and twigs, mow the lawn, and trim the bushes, your yard will look much, much better. You can save time by creating homemade weed killers (using vinegar, bleach, or rubbing alcohol, for example). Also, you can choose native plants and flowers to make watering and care easier.
